Jun,

I wanted to make sure that the following items were included in your punch list.  There were also a number of areas where Leslie Estes agreed to “work with you” to remediate, including vertical unprotected slopes subject to erosion.  We also agreed, I believe, that your punch list would include areas upstream of 3839 Delmont with problems similar to the ones encountered downstream since the group ran out of time and did not get to cover the entire length of the work area.  There is some serious erosion and sinking that is occurring at 3855 and 3859 Delmont that merits attention.

Please let us know what measures will be taken to remediate these areas.  It would help if Leslie or Craig clarified what sort of protection they have in mind.  Also, the sink holes are sinking agai n, even after you had arranged for the contractor to fill them with gravel the day before the walkthrough.  When they come back to refill the holes, PLEASE make sure they don’t dig in the creek to fill the holes again.  You must make sure they are aware that this is a protected area under the City's Creek Protection Ordinance.

Thank you,
Chiye Azuma

2/1/07 MORE SINKING

Less than two weeks since it was filled with gravel, the sink hole has reappeared.  All sink holes need to be reinspected.  REMOVE AGGREGATE FROM ALL SINK HOLES.  DO NOT USE CONSTRUCTION GRAVEL OR DIG UP THE CREEK OR OTHER PARTS OF PRIVATE PROPERTY TO FILL THE SINK HOLES.  HOLES MUST BE FILLED WITH CLEAN IMPORTED TOPSOIL. INSPECTOR MUST BE PRESENT TO ENSURE THAT WORK IS BEING DONE.
