Subject: FW: 8' Sewer main along Chimes Creek behind 3809 Delmont Avenue

Julie
Below is some old correspondence regarding sewer lines. They are
discussing two separate leaks. 1) A leaking lateral on the north side
of the creek (the one hanging in mid air that you saw).
2) A complete sewer main failure on the south side of the creek. I
witnessed this failure and it was the most disgusting thing you can
imagine in a waterway. The entire creek below the break looked like a
toilet in a dysentery ward.
Do you like the part where they say that they found more broken pipe
in this line and will fix it sometime later? Needless to say 6 months
later nothing has been repaired.

The complaint you mentioned is a leaking Side Sewer. We did find our
12" main leaking behind 3809 Delmont into the creek. It turned out
that our main was plugged. We unplugged it. As we did a follow up to
clean out this main, our Hrdro Flusher Hose got stuck in the main and
we had to do an emergency dig. We replaced approx. 28 feet of 12" main
on this easement. \

Further investigation of this main has shown us that there is more
broken pipe in this Main. We will make repairs on this easement at a
later date.

Wayne:
There is an 8" sewer main placed alongside the chimes creek visible
from the backyard of 3809 Delmont Avenue that according to complaints,
sewer leaks out when the the lateral next to the junction has flow. Is
there a way you could check on this complaint. This location would be
close to manhole #83-403-03, sewer map # 126 at the easement between
Hillmont and Delmont Avenue. Based on my observation, there is a
backflow on the main and a slight opening on a repair junction. Also,
this may have been caused by a tree that fell, caused the
backfill/slope of the creek to erode onto the creek.
Thank you,
