Subject: Chimes Creek

Hello Toni,

I am forwarding to you a copy of an email that Mark sent to Claudia Cappio re  the Quarry.  It appears that somehow we have been left out of the process,  and our voices are not being heard.  I think Mark expresses our frustration  well.  Please pass this on to Desley, and it is our hope that your office can help  to set up a meeting between us, the Creekside Neighbors, and Claudia Cappio.   (we have already requested a meeting but have had no response from Claudia)

Dear Claudia,
I live below Leona Quarry and my property has Chimes Creek running through it. I wanted to contradict the apparent feeling that there are no more neighborhood concerns left regarding the Leona Quarry Development. There is, in fact, still a great deal of concern from the neighborhood but apparently a breakdown of communication. Mills College, Friends of Two Creeks and every neighbor that I have talked to are all very concerned about the impact that the development will have in terms of the increased runoff and on the water quality of the Lion Creek Watershed.

I was not involved in the settlement earlier in the year and although I have been quite active in the public process, I have not been receiving information on meetings since the settlement. I have been very frustrated by this fact and very much want to convey my concerns to the Council.  I have been monitoring the creek for several weeks now with some help from the California Environmental Protection Agency, and will continue to do so throughout the construction process and after.

I would be very grateful if your staff could make sure that I will be informed about the next opportunity to voice my concerns to Council members.

Thank you,
